About The Artist
Jan Shaw is a sculptor from Sydney, Australia whose work includes figurative sculptures, abstract sculptures and installations. She has held various teaching positions including at the National Art School, TAFE and Community Art Centres.
Jan Shaw has been involved in numerous art committees such as the Potters Society, Innercity Clayworkers Co-operative Gallery, Artworkers Union, Manly Public Art Committee and The Sculptors Society. Commencing from 1979 she has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and has an extensive resume available upon request.
During years of sculptural practice, Jan Shaw has explored sculptural expression in many different materials which enables her to utilise the appropriate material for the commission, installation or current thematic exploration.
